Google Power Search Book Review written By Stephan Spencer

Google Power Search Book
One of my recent reads is the Google Power Search by Stephen Spencer. This is the perfect book that exposes the immense power for competitive research. We all are aware that fundamental searches are forthright, while complex searches require more concentration and perhaps a better understanding of the search engine features. This book by Stephen Spencer allows you to explore just that.

It also delves into simple but important techniques like simple Boolean Logic and other URL parameters. That is not all; the book also talks about other advanced tools and the best way to apply them to the real world research and analytics. If you are keen on knowing the best way to explore Google, the Google Power Search is a must read. Having read this book, I am more confident with my analytical research; it takes less time and not to mention, am proud of the diligence in my reports.

Healing with Homeopathy Book Review written By Dr Mukesh Batra

Healing with Homeopathy Book
Healing with Homeopathy by Dr. Mukesh Batra is a must for every household. The book is an eye opener, particularly in recent times as Homeopathy is better accepted, both socially and medically. What I liked most in this book is that it deals with over 100 illnesses, arranged in the alphabetic order. Hence it is easy to comprehend. Besides, the writing is simple and lucid.

Homeopathy is known for its holistic approach. Dr. Batra, India`s famous homeopath with the largest chain of Homeopathy clinics spread across India, shares his professional expertise. I will vouch for it as the perfect family guide, to understand common and uncommon ailments and the best ways to treat them.

I also like the way Dr. Batra explains each condition with its symptoms and the variations along with remedies that work best for the ailment. The book also includes useful dos and don`ts along with insightful case studies. I highly recommend this book.

In to the AIr Book Review written by John Krakauer

In to the Air book
I am totally mesmerized by this bestselling non-fiction book by Jon Krakauer. This book is especially endearing, as one of my closets friends has scaled the Mt. Everest and I could relate to mishaps occurring during such an adventure. It is a detailed account of the Mount Everest disaster of 1996 wherein a storm killed 8 climbers and disturbed several others.

Although the author had given up mountain climbing years ago, he eventually decides to participate in the climb with a purely professional intention. The book takes you through the events that unfold during the climb, including the great mishap. The author narrates how the much experienced and highly qualified climber and guide Boukreev rescued many lives.

I highly recommend this book as it is a real life story of a real life hero. His heroism was no fluke and this insightful and lucidly written book will leave you with no doubt in that regard.

Unusual People Do Things Differently Book Review Written By TGC Prasad

Unsual People Do Things Differently
This book by T.G.C. Prasad outlines that one important factor that alienates winners from the mediocre. Mediocrity is not always acceptable and what makes winners achieve extra ordinary feats is something very well explored in this book. This is not only an insightful read but it also makes you think what is it that these unusual people do?

Are winners more prone to accepting challenges or rectifying their mistakes, or are they more sensitive to nuances and are on the look out for lateral solutions? The book delves into these details in the most lucid way. Yes, so if you are someone who has, time and again, dared to think out of the box and are in pursuit of excellence this book will appeal to you.

The Truth About Celia Frost Book Review Written By Paula Rawsthorne

The Truth About Celia Frost
I read this book in a little over a day, at a normal reading pace. Yes, the book is definitely a great read and I need to make a special mention of the writing style. If you are a budding writer or wish to be one someday, the Truth About Celia Frost may give insights into writing something that ignites curiosity and has a mysterious streak to it.

Celia Frost is a freak. At least that's what everyone thinks. Non coagulation is only a misnomer as Celia has one of the rarest disorders, which means she can bleed to death from a tiny cut. She has no friends and there is no room for fun. A sudden turn of events results in a knife attack which totally frightens her mother.

Consequently, her behavior becomes irrational and is something that is least expected. She takes the easiest route out and plans a quick escape. But why is she so frightened and of what? Read this book to know what happens. I highly recommend this book as it has the essence of suspense, thrill and great storyline- the ingredients for a fun read.

My Bollywood Wedding + Saris And The City By Rekha Waheed

My Bollywood Wedding
I bought the book, fully expecting that it would be a typical masala novel with wedding and colors and a traditional touch. The book was much more than I expected. It has a bit of everything. It strikes a fine balance between a typical marriage drama and the manner in which NRIs strike a balance.

Maya Malik who lives in London wants a glamorous wedding, but organizing one, is a bit complicated as her fiance lives in New York. Her would be sister-in-law pitches in and decides to take over the arrangement. Maya is not convinced as she had made her dislike for Maya very obvious. Besides, Maya is also attracted to her Fiancé’s cousin who is apparently a George-Clooney lookalike.

Jhanghir, her man, is not very good at communicating. Like all girls that are on the verge of getting married, Maya too has mixed emotions. She begins doubting her decisions. The reader in you will not be surprised that she is having second thoughts about her decision. I like the simplistic approach, the way familial influence is brought about and the very natural way in which the characters think and react.

My Bollywood Wedding is an interesting read, hilarious at times, with the integral aspect of Indian weddings and the hullabaloo that surrounds it. There is a certain Indianess that will appeal to you. Go read the book and enjoy this desi wedding trip. There are mysteries to unravel too. I highly recommend this one.

Ruchita Misras The Ineligible Bachelors Must Read

The Ineligible Bachelors Must Read
The book is written as diary entry of Kasturi Shukla....fresh out of one of India's top b school who finds herself at the centre of her mother's attraction soon after graduation. The mother wants to get the girl married to the first decent guy she comes across as she is saddened by the fact that her daughter hasnt found anyone herself yet...The girl, like all of our age, is horrified at the thought and tries all to get out of it but to no avail and eventually gives to the societal pressures.

The book clearly captures the story that is so common with so many guys/girls my age these days. Parents having only marriage on their mind, unrelenting children who tither under emotional blackmail from the parents. The story captures the nice details about the things my generation hates about the concept of arranged marriage and why parents need to take a second look at the process.

The book is clearly written from a girl's point of view and serves as a good lesson for guys into what-not-to-do when meeting a girl for the first time and also a little bit on what-girls-expect-from-their-guys!!

The arranged marriage part takes up only 20-25% of the book's time, rest of the time is how things change in the life of the young Kasturi with her new job, her first Boss - Rajeev Mehrotra and her new best friends at work - Varun and Ananya.

While reading the book, you dont feel like you are reading a book. Its more like someone's telling you a story and makes the book unputdownable. The laughs you get are genuine, the situations real(apart from the mafia involvement - mafia in a book on marriages!!! Read book for more details ;)) and the characters immensely likeable esp the calm and silent Dr.Purva.

The book showcases the power of friendship. how people change when in love, how people overlook the obvious when in love and how things they think they know are not there anymore.

Read the book if you have a special friend, one who would do anything for you, one who wouldnt hesitate to tell you anything, even if meant hurting you for your own good and if you want to relive the moments with those friends.

The ending, even though expected halfway through the book, was the best part. The emotional depth and maturity in the end made it like a sweet dessert at the end of a sumptuous meal. There was a apricot in the dessert which I dont think quite fitted with the dessert but I think I can let that pass.(For those who dont know me : I dont like the taste of apricot in my food)

Final Verdict : Definitely a must read, not too much about arranged marriages but definitely a lot about friendship, love and how life must move on!!!

Corporate Atyachar Book Review Comical Journey of Office Doormat

Corporate Atyachar by Radhakrishna Pillai

Corporate Atyachar is a novel written by first-timer Abhay Nagarajan. This Comical Journey of an Office Doormat is a fun to read book. This is a story of a Finance post-graduate from Delhi University who is recruited by a wealth management firm in Bangalore. The company specializes in catering to the needs of High Net Income clients. The protagonist is made to work under an obnoxious boss and assist him in managing the investment requirements of a set of highly distinctive clients, who according to the author are weird.

Corporate Atyachar is set in the financial year 2007-08. During this time the stock market touched euphoric heights followed by a catastrophic crash during the global recession. Abhay takes on a novel approach and does not assign any name to the characters. Each of them however has nicknames based on what the narrator gives them. There are some interesting names given to the characters which stay with you for long. Yes, long after you have completed the book.

Dealing mainly with interesting interactions between the narrator and the HBS, the clients arrange for a series of meetings before and post the stock market fall. Most of the book is in the conversational form with humorous observations from the narrator. This book is really worth a read.

About The Author:
Abhay Nagrajan did schooling in Mumbai & Bangalore. I did my graduation from SRCC and followed that up with a Masters degree in finance (MFC) from University of Delhi. I worked as a financial advisor for a little over two years. Besides working or writing, I enjoy reading up on cricket statistics- my first love since class five. The Valley of Masks Book Review Tarunj Tejpal

I recently purchased The Valley of Masks and got a very good deal with it. Yes, the book was up for sale at a whopping discount and I got it for nearly half the list price. The book diagnoses the various aspects of power, dogma and purity. It offers a frightening but realistic vision of the future. The book may seem disturbing but it offers an analytical angle which is certainly not worth a miss.

I found the book to be imaginative yet disturbing and the novel transcends borders and cultures. This book instills good reading habits in the young, and if you like reading about the dogmas associated with power, this book is a must read. Though of a serious subject line, The Valley of Masks is more of a story with a lesson which you and people around could learn. The Valley Of Masks is thus aptly described as a book with no parallel in Indian literature. The lesson that you learn as a reader will haunt your thought for quite a bit. I recommend this book to all my reader pals.

Corporate Nirvana Book story in corporate India

Urbanization has brought with it multiple opportunities for all. It has even changed the way we look at globalization and growth in economic terms. I have been reading quite a lot on corporate management. Corporate Nirvana by Sonali Masih-D'silva, akin to her other books, is a must read. The book is aptly described as a story that would enlighten you.

As a reader I could relate to the various voids which the modern life may pose and stop us from achieving what is destined for us. Corporate Nirvana delves into the actual mantra of successful living offering the secret route to the perfect success mantra, wealth and real joy. I found the book very insightful; as it offers a good solution to come up with the best ideas, the zest to experiment and the need for a ‘never say die’ attitude.

You could also easily relate to the hero`s struggles with a life that is dysfunctional. It will resonate with many of us who have chosen to live a busy life. It doesn’t end only with the corporate world as it has many useful lessons needed to strike a balance between an individual`s personal and professional life.

The Google Guys Book Review Richard Brandt

‘Google it’ is the latest catchphrase which every one of us has used ever so often. Ever wondered what actually drives the Google founders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin? This book has the answer to your questions. Yes, The Google Guys by Richard L Brandt is surely something to look forward to.  I was partly confused which book to choose and finally zeroed in on The Google Guys and opted for Pre-Order. The fact that the author is an award winning journalist did influence my decision.

Though one of the most reputed companies in the world, there are many misconceptions surrounding the inception and the manner in which it operates. The book is ideal to demystify the myths surrounding the company. Larry Page is the one who is fuelled by business acumen so special, that it has resulted in a phenomenon called Google.

Sergey Brin, with his technical prowess is the main technologist and idealist. He not only has brilliant ideas but also strong moral positions. However, they work together in cohesion making things work and how? Google is today, one of the most reputed organizations in the world. The author demystifies the mammoth of an organization by bringing to readers interviews with ex employees, affiliates and people from competition. I highly recommend this book to everyone, who like me, are enamored by Google. This should certainly be a must read.

Inheritance Book by Christopher Paolini

Inheritance by Christopher Paolini is aptly described as an authentic work of talent. This story about Eragon a farm boy whose life changes to impact an entire civilization is worth reading. It is on similar lines as work by Tolkien. This is a classical fantasy about dragons and heroes that will appeal to people from different age groups.

Eragon the fifteen something boy, lives an ordinary life, until fate decides to tune his life into an action packed one. His dragon Saphira is constantly by his side. They are about to face the greatest battle wherein they have to fight Galbatorix. When they decide to do that they are required to be strong enough to defeat them and if they are not able to, rest assured no body else can.

Eragon and his faithful dragon have come a long way and have actually drifted farther than anyone else had ever gone. In this book of the phenomenally successful inheritance series, the rider and his dragon have accomplished a major part of their goal. But will they terminate the evil King and restore justice in Alagaesia? Read on to know more. I am eagerly awaiting the release of the book. I am sure Inheritance fans out there are waiting for the book too.

The River Smoke Book Review by Amitav Ghosh

If you wish to study the colonial history of the East through a seafaring tale and the problems of poppy’s product- the opium, go for the river of smoke. In this sequel to the Sea of Popies, Amitav Gosh dives deep in presenting the picture of Opium War of 1830s. Gosh shifts his focus on canton in this book.

Book opens in Mauritius and moves on to chase its storm tossed characters. The ship is caught in the whirlwind and when the seas settle five men- two lascars, two convicts and one passenger have gone missing. As the narration progress you’ll find out whether it was the storm that changed the routes of the ships or were the destiny of passengers meant to coincide. It presents an interesting picture of the network of alleys and harbor through characters from all walks of life; it has tycoons, government officials, journalists, fugitives, smugglers, and a motley collection of others.

The River of Smoke reads like a scholarly paper and provides rich details on opium war and Cantonese society. Highly recommended!

Those in peril book review by Wilbu Smith

‘Those in Peril’ by Wilbur Smith brings you face to face with the barbarian world of 21st century piracy.

“Hazel Bannock is the heir to the Bannock Oil Corp, one of the major oil producers with global reach. While cruising in the Indian Ocean, Hazel’s private yacht is hijacked by African pirates. Hazel is not on board at the time, but her nineteen year old daughter, Cayla, is kidnapped and held to ransom. The pirates demand a crippling twenty billion dollar ransom for her release. Complicated political and diplomatic considerations render the civilized major powers incapable of intervening.”

When Hazel is given evidence of the horrific torture which Cayla is being subjected to, she calls on Hector Cross to help her rescue her daughter. Hector is the owner and operator of Cross Bow Security, the company which is contracted to Bannock Oil to provide all their security. He is a formidable fighting man. Between them Hazel and Hector are determined to take the law into their own hands.”

Wilbur Smith gives a pictorial presentation to the book. It deals with serious topics of piracy and religion. It presents the Muslim religion in great depth, why Muslims have strong dislike for westerners. Book has vivid description of murders and brutal rapes. The narrative is fresh supported by strong characters. It explores in depth the problem of Somali pirates in Indian Ocean. Plot moves in flow and preserves suspense till the end. This thriller will not disappoint you at any level.

Empire of the Moghul Book Review Alexander Rutherford

Empire of the Moghul: Ruler of the World by Alex Rutherford operates on two levels. This is the third book in the series of Empire of the Moghul. First part of the book focuses on Akbar. The great Moghul, and the much loved leader of the people too had flaws. The ruler, who continued to extend his rule over Asia, had a troubled relationship with his son. The first part of the book describes Akbar’s triumphs; it captures in details how Akbar goes on to become the greatest emperor. His strength, valor makes him the greatest emperor but these very qualities of him estrange him from his son, Salim.

The second part of the book is devoted to Salim (Jehangir). Salim has nothing in common with his father. He wallows in self pity and is unable to live up to his father’s expectation. His actions are looked upon as a vendetta for his father. His romantic overtures, his drinking habits and his killing Akbar’s confidant, all these actions make Akbar’s convictions stronger and he denies him his right to be a successor.

Book is written in a compelling tone and Rutherford does justice in portraying the love-hate relationship between the father and son. The strength, flaws and individualist traits of both the character is worth observing.

EspnStar Sealed With A Six Book Review

The 2011 world cup win was a memorable one for all Indians. How many of us have enjoyed the victory even more than watching the match itself? Sealed With A Six by Espn Cricinfo is an informative book that will help revive the glorious victory. The other plus is that it is authored by the best cricket writers of all time.
Sealed with a Six is a great choice if you wish to own a definitive edition, which after years, will help you revive the glorious moment in India`s cricketing history. Bringing home the coveted world cup after the stupendous 1983 victory is truly something. And this edition by some of the best cricket writers is just the right thing to help relive each of the precious moments.

In addition to being a great read, I got the free ‘Champions moment’ poster inside the book. This is something I will preserve for years to come. Decades down the line, maybe I would be able to show the younger generation, pictures of India`s victory with the details of the series. It sure is a great buy and will be cherished for a long time from now.

Rashmi Bansals Zero to Hero Book Review

I purchased this book from Infibeam, the moment they put it on the shelf. I have read Stay Hungry Stay foolish and have liked the simple flow of content, and the ‘matter of fact’ way of depicting people`s success stories. With Zero to Hero, the author adds a new dimension to her writing. It is not a book about how the rich get richer, or a story about famous dads and their successful offsprings. This is a story, or rather an informative read about how you could be a big somebody even when you don’t have great familial backing.

On reading this book I realized two things. Rashmi Bhansal was not trying her luck at motivational writing; neither was she trying to emphasize things in a bollywood style (the title may make you think otherwise). The author very lucidly tells the reader that all you have to have, is your head on your shoulders, clear thinking and an ambition so strong that will engulf all your fears at attempting something big. I have been inspired to follow my dreams and would like to thank Rashmi Bhansal for this informative read. I also recommend this book to one and all. Go read it and get inspired!

Improve Your Writing Skills Book Review

A love story with the “its different” formula
Kanav and Tanya are in love but distances have done them apart (not really). This is the quintessential love story, where long distance relationships tread on the dainty thread of hope. There is hope to continue the relationship but there is a constant fear. One of them assumes things have changed ever since they were parted by distances. If you believe in long distance relationship or are in the hope of finding success in it, you must read this book. I for one picked it up having read the review posted on a friend’s blog.

The two are so in love that they believe love will keep them alive. Their positive thinking works in their favor and within six months they are united again, in the place where their romance bloomed-India. The eternal wait thus comes to a halt. There is speculation if the two are just the same or they have changed with time. I would say the author has done a commendable job and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Find out if you like it as much as I did and recommend it to your friends as well, just as I did.

Zero Dial Dangerous World Of Informers

Newspapers today are full of disturbing news on crime, scams, deaths, and natural calamities. Who brings them to our drawing rooms? There are forces out there, which are mentally prepared to face dangers to bring the truth out in the open. One such journalist was J. Dey. His book Zero Dial the Dangerous world of Informers about the dangerous world of informers. The book delves into the details of the murky lanes that hold beneath the layers, a dark and sinister world of criminals.
If you are one of those readers who don’t easily get disturbed by all that is written about the sinister world out there, this book will appeal to you. I like the fact that the content seems so real. The fact that it is straight out of the horse`s mouth makes it all the more useful. Yes, I say useful because Zero Dial is an informative read.

Zero Dial The Dangerous World Of Informers talks about the bad world profuse with crime, drugs, killings and deceit. Switching gang loyalties in the vile world that believes in selling information and making a fortune is incorporated in Zero Dial. The book also talks about events leading to the search for India`s most wanted terrorist. Deceit lurks in the vicinity and there is little time before the secret search is unraveled. Along the way, the lives of three policemen collide and the search begins to take an interesting turn. Zero Dial sure made for a very good read. I highly recommend the book for readers from different walks of life.

HELLO, BASTAR Book Review Worth Reading

I had the privilege of reading Hello Bastar-a book dealing with the untold story of India`s Maoist Movement by Rahul Pandita. It is based on a comprehensive reportage and includes interviews and excerpts from conversations that the author had with Maoist leaders including the supreme commander Ganapathi. I found the narrative to be an amiable one, which even after taking a break from reading, was easy to catch up with.
That being said, there are few instances where you feel the urge to know more about the movement, how Bastar became what it is and its impact on the lives of the people there. The book includes interviews with leaders like Kobad Ghandy. The major highlight of the book is that the author has actually travelled long distances and into the remote jungles to avail the information that you get to read in the book. That is not all; Hello Bastar is an insightful read.
The book is a reflection of what the tribal people of central India would say and their opinions on this matter of national interest and much more. So, if you have been intrigued by the creation of the Guerilla base in Bastar and the Jagtial movement or the functioning of the squads, you will find Hello Bastar to be an intriguing read. I highly recommend this one.

Newspapers today are full of disturbing news on crime, scams, deaths, and natural calamities. Who brings them to our drawing rooms? Switching gang loyalties in the vile world that believes in selling information and making a fortune is incorporated in Zero Dial. The book also talks about events leading to the search for India`s most wanted terrorist. Deceit lurks in the vicinity and there is little time before the secret search is unraveled. Mao's Great Famine Book Review

Mao's Great Famine by Frank Dikotter is a detailed account of China's most devastating catastrophe. China was facing a turbulent phase between 1958 and 1962 and was gradually descending into hell. Mao Zedong threw his country into frenzy with the Great Leap Forward, an initiative to overtake Britain in less than 15 years. The experiment was a disaster and it ended with destruction of tens of millions of lives.

Frank Dikotter presents an astonishing, riveting and magnificently detailed book that chronicles an era in Chinese history, much speculated about, but never fully documented. Although access to Communist Party archives was denied to historians, a new law has opened up thousands of central and provincial documents that fundamentally changed the way one could study the Maoist era. The author shows that contrary to the belief, the Great Leap Forward was a disastrous initiative and not one which would prove the supreme power of communism.

Dikotter demonstrates, for the first time that under this initiative, the country became the site not only of one of the most deadly mass killings of human history with at least 45 million people worked, starved or beaten to death but also the greatest demolition of real estate and catastrophe for the natural environment. Consequently, up to a third of all housing turned to rubble and the land savaged, in the pursuit of steel and other industrial accomplishments.

Combining together the vicious machinations in the hall of power and the everyday experiences of ordinary people, Frank Dikotter gives voice to the dead and disenfranchised. Mao's Great Famine recasts the history of the People's Republic of China.

Lee Child has carved out yet another thriller that is worth your time. I have always loved his work and Worth Dying For is no exception. Yes, it keeps you on tenterhooks but that does not take away the credit the author, Lee Child is so deserving of. In this book, your favorite hero Jack Racher is making his way to Virginia to hopefully meet up with the lady with an irresistible voice. Fate has different plans for him, as he gets dropped off in Nebraska where he decides to spend only one night at a motel. However, his plans change as he meets a doctor and offers to drive him to a patient`s house to treat his broken nose.
On knowing how the patient`s nose is broken, Jack is worried and makes up his mind to track down her husband and teach him a lesson. This sudden decision of his gets him embroiled in a struggle for power. This unexpected situation carries more emotional impact than the previous cases. He gets to know that the locals have been having a tough time coming to terms with their life and Jack Reacher teaches them to add a spark and restore their fighting streak.
If you are a reader who likes thrillers and is blood thirsty for violence, you would like Worth Dying For by Lee Child. Besides, if you think the righteous man avenging the unlawful treatment of the poor and helpless locals is your kind of story then go for it. I have found it to be a real page turner and am sure it will enthrall readers from different walks of life.

Tell All Book by Chuck Palahniuk

Palahniuk is an ambitious author and his latest book Tell All stands testimony to the author`s quest to achieve the unthinkable. It give you an in the face encounter of things which may, otherwise seem taboo in the society. It is an ambitious book which is part mystery, part historical and has a generous helping of some backstage gossip. The theme is on the lines of public image meets private reality. The book actually delves into the phony nature of the former and a ghastly nature of the latter.
Tell –All is essentially more on the melodrama end of the spectrum and is full of big gestures accompanied by silenced anguish. Hazie Coogan as the narrator, talks about the mysterious character of Miss Kathir. She is an enigma and a star that has dollops of signs of being an Elizabeth Taylor and is not deprived of the torments of Judy Garland. The narration is simple and as you read you will discover the book is written so as to make the reader so engrossed he will not put it down. Kathie`s had many heartbreaks and five failed marriages. Palahniuk makes Hazie Coogan a protagonist who cannot see Kathie in trouble and wishes to save her from further heartbreaks.

Miss Kathie has survived multiple marriages, and career comebacks. There have been many cosmetic surgeries too. But there are sudden turn of events when Westward III arrives and makes his way into Kathie`s heart. So read on to know more about this book aptly described as a Palahniuk vintage.

Ravana story Book Review

Ramayan, for an average Indian culminates with Lord Rama`s homecoming and his subsequent accession of the throne. Stories for most of us is a ‘happily ever after’ thing. The Vengeance of Ravana gives a new angle to the world`s greatest epic. Yes, the author, Ashok banker reveals the different layers and narrates the story in a never before perspective.
The Vengeance of Ravana begins with Lord Ram getting a dream and the secret voice that takes him outside the Kingdom to see what Ayodhya has in store for him. This is followed by the appearance of Kala nemi, the uncle of Ravan and who was exiled in the netherworld. The book reveals that the reason of Rama and Sita to remain on earth is to demolish all evil that would attack the mortals.

As a reader, I was thrilled to note that an old enemy broke free to convey a special message. There is an Army at the gates of Ayodhya and a very mysterious looking weapon. Is Lord Ram following his religion and dharma or is he being manipulated by a plot devised by the demon God? Read on this volume by Ashok K. Banker to know more about Ravana after Ramayan apparently came to a happy end. The 'happily ever after' was only a figment of your imagination? Highly recommend this book. Fantastic read is only an understatement.

Mahatma Gandhis Letters on Brahmacharya Book

Avid readers have good reasons to find Mahatma Gandhi`s work on philanthropy interesting. If you are one of the readers that wish to know about the road less travelled, this book is a must read. I say this, as the title is laced with a touch of controversy, especially since it mentions his views on celibacy. Girija Kumar, the author, has compiled his works comprising letters to his associates, mostly women. Important names mentioned in the book include Millie Polak, Nilla Cram Cook, Mirabehn, Sushila Nayyar, and Menu Gandhi to list a few.
I have to make a mention of a special chapter dedicated to Sarla Devi, who Gandhiji looked up to as his spiritual wife. A major portion of this literary work deals with his controversial experiments with celibacy or Brahmacharya. If you thought Prithvi Singh Azad was only a crusader, you are in for a pleasant surprise, as there is a love story, failed one though, of Azad and Mirabhen.
Mahatma Gandhi's Letters on Brahmacharya, Sexuality and Love by Girja Kumar created quite a ripple when it was announced and has been a bestseller. The story of his association with Hermann Kalenbach is the major highlight. The content takes you into a whole new world where the father of our Nation speaks about a subject that is considered a taboo in our society. If you wish to break free from the shackles of imposing societal norms and wish to get a fresh new perspective on Brahmacharaya from Bapu`s writings, this book is it. Go for it and get enlightened.

Arnav and Anadi, the two main characters are in love. Arnav believes it is cricket that brought the two of them together. Arnav tries his best to make things work, yet destiny has its plans for the two of them. I like the simple yet complicated love story portrayed in the book.
To complicate things further, an older guy makes his entry. He is older and better settled than Arnav. Will that affect their relationship? Will Arnav be able to get his love or does destiny play the power game. Read on to know if destiny truly conspires for something you really want, or is life a fascinating bag of surprises.
